Charlton Village — Gold again!
Gold Award and Category Winner in South & South East in Bloom for the second year running: a celebration of the people who care for Charlton Village, all year round.

We are delighted to share some wonderful news: Charlton Village has received a Gold Award and been named Category Winner in South & South East in Bloom for the second consecutive year. After our first success in 2025, we returned to RHS Garden Wisley in September 2026 to celebrate another proud moment for our community.
Since the current CVRA committee took up its roles in July 2023, residents, volunteers and supporters have helped bring lasting improvements to Charlton Village. Trees, thousands of bulbs, hanging baskets, borders and planters have added colour, while environmental projects have created more space for wildlife. Alongside that practical work, CVRA continues to represent residents on roads, flooding, traffic, planning and infrastructure.
In 2025, our regional Gold Award and Category Winner title were joined by Spelthorne in Bloom’s Most Attractive Local Area and Best in Show awards. We studied the judges’ feedback, continued improving and entered South & South East in Bloom again in 2026. Receiving Gold and the category title once more recognises that sustained effort.
Residents Mark and Vicky Davies put it beautifully: “The village is the best it has ever looked. Winning the award is just recognition of the fantastic committee and volunteers who work so hard to keep it looking lovely.”
For us, this is about much more than one judging day. Planting, watering, weeding, litter-picking and caring for our shared spaces continue throughout the year because Charlton Village is our home. The awards give us a chance to celebrate that work and learn how we can keep improving.
These achievements belong to everyone who contributes: our committee and gardening volunteers, residents who look after their surroundings, local businesses and sponsors, councillors and council officers, and members whose voluntary contributions help fund the work. Whether you give time, skills, money or encouragement, thank you.
There is more to look forward to, including further planting, wildflower areas, our developing orchard and more habitats for birds, bats and insects, alongside community activities and continued representation for residents. We welcome new volunteers and anyone who would like to support CVRA or become a member.
Charlton Village may be small, but our community spirit is something to celebrate. Together, we can keep making our village an even better place to call home.
